DIDSON Vane Mount

The vane was developed to allow the remote deployment of a DIDSON and a split-beam transducer at depths (~150m) beyond the operating range of the equipment. The equipment was mounted to a ROS pan and tilt device to enable aiming of the sonar equipment. The primary goal was to place the instruments within a herring school to obtain in situ swimming speed and size information.
