Turtle
DIDSON detects a ~60-cm long sea turtle (likely a loggerhead sea turtle) with a very clear acoustic shadow projected on the bottom. These turtles are aggregating near Cape Lookout Bight in North Carolina. Deployment: The DIDSON was mounted upside down on a fixed mount off the starboard side of the boat and pointed forward at an oblique downward angle.
