Hull Sweeps with Sonar Imaging

A diver changes modes for closer inspection of this pontoon.

Hulls and berths aren’t hiding places anymore.

With their ability to find objects as small as a barnacle—even in the murkiest water—Sound Metrics imaging sonars are improving the safety of hulls and berths around the world.

The clear, near video-quality images they deliver dramatically improve law enforcement’s ability to find contraband, explosives, IEDs, drugs, weapons, mines, evidence and other unwanted objects.

On the detection frequency, Sound Metrics sonars have a range of up to 30 meters. The higher frequency inspection mode provides details on objects as small as a weld seam on the hull of a ship. The diver-held model is ideal for this job and is rated to 100 meters.
